Vessel Access

This user guide sets out how to use the ‘Vessel Access’ section of the eCMID database.  There is a separate guide for vessel operators on managing access to vessel data.

The vessel access section is split into two pages, for quick access to vessel data for which access has already been granted. Each option also enables payment of upload fees.

Vessel operator users should access their own vessels via ‘My Organisation‘.

Current Report Access

The ‘Current Report Access’ page lists all vessels to which the current company has access, grouped by company.  All published eCMID and eMISW reports for those vessels are shown, with the colour of the report icon indicating its status (green for current, green/red for available but expired, red for expired).

The context menu (right-click or tap-and-hold) provides options for the vessels and reports shown:

  • Display vessel management contact details – vessel only
This option displays contact details provided by the vessel operator which can be used to follow up a pending request for access, to request a vessel transfer or for other relevant communications.
  • Download inspection report – report only
This option enables downloading of a PDF copy of the inspection report, including any vessel operator comments that have been entered since the date of inspection.
  • Cancel CMID Access – vessel only
  • If your company no longer requires access to a vessel, use this option to cancel your access and remove the vessel (and/or company) from this ‘current access’ page.
  • Pay for inspection, Share payment link and apply for refund – see our payment guide.

Request Report Access

The ‘Request Report Access’ page enables users to request access on behalf of their company to other companies’ vessel inspection data.

Use the ‘Vessel operator’ filter to find the relevant company.  Its vessels will be showed, as will the current availability of published inspection reports.

The context menu (right-click or tap-and-hold) provides options for the vessels and reports shown:

  • Display vessel management contact details – vessel only
This option displays contact details provided by the vessel operator which can be used to follow up a pending request for access, to request a vessel transfer or for other relevant communications.
  • Make report access request – This option displays a page overlay where you can enter a message to the vessel operator that may help them review and process your request.
    • Where a company has permitted such requests, you can request report access for an entire company (click or tap the company icon)
    • If you only require access to report data for a single vessel (or if the vessel operator has disabled ‘All vessels’ requests), click or tap on the vessel icon
  • Pay for inspection, Share payment link and apply for refund – see our payment guide.
